Glycolipid - are carbohydrate-attached lipids. Their role is to provide energy and also serve as markers for cellular recognitionGlycoprotein - consist of a protein with an attached carbohydrate that is involved in cell recognition as receptors, and they also aid in the cell's adhesion to other cells.
Cholesterol - helps to maintain the fluid condition of the bi-layer by breaking up the closely associated phospholipids
Phospholipids - anchors to cell proteins made up of a circular phosphate group head, and two long, fatty acid chain tails. Head is hydrophillic and polar and tail is hydrophobic and non-polar
Receptor Protein - designed so special molecules can bind to them, and send messages to the cell that trigger some sort of reaction within the cell.
Transport Protein - a protein which serves the function of moving other materials within an organism.
